We did it! The 30-Day Lazy Girl Job Challenge is officially complete!
This challenge was a daily Substack post tackling one common work struggle, my anti-work philosophy to break through it, and one small action step to take.
At its core, this challenge was never about a quick fix. Opting out of the hustle culture mind virus is an ongoing process. It’s an unraveling of the social myths we’ve been fed since childhood….
There is nothing wrong with you. There’s no secret masterclass I’ve been keeping from you. The path to more autonomy at work isn’t some giant leap. It’s small, daily shifts that compound over time.
By the time you hit Day 30, you will show-up like a different person!
There’s been so many lightbulb moments from students of this challenge!! Some have:
Found the courage to say no to emails outside of work hours.
Creating new time away from work to launch their own Youtube side hustle.
Discovered their $100/hr consulting model to escape the lack of promotions at their current job.
Faced the reality that they are not being paid enough (their boss and coworkers surely weren’t going to tell them)!
I selfishly want you to not regret spending 40 years on a thankless job.
You already have so much going on at work. Endless pings, emails, and project tracker notifications. Isn’t it funny how we have to “chime in” with the same update on a 197-email thread, repeat it in the weekly team meeting, mention it again in your one-on-one with your boss, then go back to Jira and log it again for “visibility”? It’s a never-ending cycle of distractions.
My goal has always been to improve your relationship with work.
But I know I’m up against a lot. I’m up against all those performative notifications, the creeping fight-or-flight panic by 11 AM, the constant reorgs, the gaslighting tactics from leadership, and everything else they throw at you.
So I wanted to deliver my anti-work strategies in a way that’s easy, digestible, not overwhelming, and actually impactful. I’m here to trigger those aha moments, especially when you’re burnt out, stressed, and on the verge of giving up.
You’ve been white-knuckling your way through corporate America’s productivity cult for long enough. It’s time to swing the pendulum back to peace and confidence.
If you haven’t already, I highly recommend going through the 30-Day Challenge.
