A lot of experts online are panicking about the new administration. I get it, something changes every day.
But fear-mongering? That’s not my style.
I think it’s selfish when creators use fear to boost engagement. Making you anxious benefits them with higher views, better brand deals, bigger platform payouts.
So, when I see creators doing this, I can’t help but see two possibilities:
1️⃣ They’re genuinely struggling. Which is valid, but should be unpacked with friends, a therapist, or even a hobby. Turning a personal crisis into audience validation feels… codependent.
2️⃣ They’re performing for engagement. Using fear to pander, knowing it’ll get clicks. That’s manipulative and a disservice to people who are just looking for solutions.
I know how lucky I am to have this platform, and I don’t take it lightly. You don’t owe me anything, I work for you. That’s why, when I am not creating, I spend a lot of time in the yoga studio and group therapy. My mental health is my job, not yours.
Bad mental health days happen. Frustration is real. But real leadership means stepping up with courage, action, and solutions even when it’s hard.
Me feeding your anxiety? That helps no one. Validating emotions is important, but I’m not your therapist, and I won’t pretend to be. That’s unethical. You already have spaces to process emotions and I trust your judgment on that. You’re a critical-thinking adult, and I refuse to talk down to you.
Your real problem? Uncertainty about your career in a fast-moving world.
So, I came with solutions.
